Unique range of services offered to the public transportation industry

September 26, 1999 -- Gilbert Arizona -- Works Consulting, LLC (doing business as GISworks.com) was formed by a group of transportation and computer professionals formerly affiliated with Lee Engineering of Phoenix.  Joe Breyer, former VP and leader of the Transportation Information Systems group at Lee Engineering will direct Works Consulting.

GISworks.com will concentrate on Geographic Information System issues for the Transportation industry.  Works has several established projects through Lee Engineering, mostly to service the GIS needs within the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Works will seek a niche role (either prime or supporting contract) in the delivery of "working geographic information solutions" to government transportation agencies.  According to Breyer, GISworks.com will play a strong role in the research and development of advanced solutions using applications that use GIS, GPS, and Photo Log.  Works will deploy its own Internet Map Server (ArcIMS) in the second quarter of 2000 to demonstrate the capabilities of current products once they are Internet-enabled.
